Apollo Women’s Cancer Centre: Apollo Athenia

Defence Colony, New Delhi

The design supports a model of care that fosters dignity—a space where women can express themselves freely and receive specialized treatment with compassion. At IIDC, we’ve long advocated for the benefits of biophilic design in healthcare. Neuroaesthetics builds on this foundation, engaging additional sensory stimuli to reduce stress and support the healing process. A thoughtfully integrated art program introduces moments of delight and discovery throughout the facility, from the welcoming façade to the inner sanctums. Nature, art, and calming pause points come together to create a therapeutic environment that enhances every step of the patient journey.

Key Design Details

Every element of the façade and interior has been thoughtfully designed through the lens of neuroaesthetics to support patient well-being and accelerate recovery. From materials and textures to light, form, and flow—each detail contributes to a calming, restorative environment that engages the senses and fosters healing.

Daycare beds are designed to offer a higher standard of privacy and comfort, ensuring patients receive focused treatment in a calm and dignified setting.
