Cocoon Hospital

Chandigarh, Punjab

Cocoon Hospital, Chandigarh is a 50-bed, approximately 1,00,000 sq.ft Mother & Child Specialty Hospital, strategically located in one of Chandigarh’s prominent commercial and hospitality districts.

The project brings together the timeless elegance of Neo-Classical architecture with the warmth and sophistication of contemporary hospitality, creating a distinctive identity for a modern healthcare environment. The design is conceived to be refined, welcoming and enduring, where architectural character and healthcare functionality come together seamlessly.

Key Design Details

The double-height reception lobby sets the tone for Cocoon Hospital from the moment one enters. Generous volume, refined Neo-Classical detailing and a carefully composed interior create a sense of grandeur without intimidation—transforming the conventional hospital arrival into a calm, welcoming and hospitality-led experience.
In the consultant rooms, privacy is embedded within the planning itself. The examination zone is discreetly separated from the consultation area, particularly addressing the sensitivities of gynaecological consultations. Elegant detailing and a warm, residential character further soften the clinical environment, creating a space where dignity, comfort and care coexist seamlessly.
The IPD rooms are conceived as restorative spaces rather than purely clinical environments. Neo-Classical detailing is balanced with lower sill levels and generous openings, allowing daylight to reach deep into the rooms and creating an uninterrupted visual relationship with the outdoors. This deliberate connection with nature brings light, openness and a sense of calm into the healing environment.
